Indian share markets settled with decent gains on expiry day on Thursday, providing some relief to the participants. After a flat start, the Nifty traded in a narrow range in the first half, but a swift rebound in index majors in the latter half completely changed market strategies.
The NSE index ended at 7-month closing low. The Sensex and Nifty erased 2016 gains with the Sensex now down over 1 percent while Nifty is down 0.5 percent for the year. The Nifty ended down 78 points or 0.97 percent at 7908 while the Sensex closed down 234 points or 0.90 percent at 25807.
